Forum Rules and Regulations

The following rules & regulations takes effect from the time of posting. Any member who gets reported for breaking any of these rules will be given an unspecified number of warnings from the moderators. Stubborn members will have their membership banned.

The management has the right to modify, remove or add any of these items without due notice. Any gray areas will be decided by the administrators and moderators.

1. Posting Liability:

a.   Any member that posts content which is deemed illegal in this country (Malaysia) and as such, when a report is made against the said post, the administrator of this forum will fully co-operate with the law enforcers should they contact us for information.
b.   All members will be responsible for their own posting, the owner of Sabahpaintball.com and its moderators are not responsible for the content of the members' posting.


2. Account Ownership:

a.   You agree you will register only ONE account. Each account must only be linked to 1 email address.
b.   If you have trouble with your log-in or password, please try the password retrieval feature.
c.   If the above fail, please contact the admin/mods rather than registering again. However, to prevent account hijacking, you will have to prove that you are indeed the owner of that account and the mods will have the right to reject your requests if you cannot prove your case.
d.   Duplicate or suspicious accounts may be deleted at the discretion of the forum administrators.
e.   If different members want to become members but are from the same household (wife, brothers, sisters, etc) then please register using your own membership account and nickname.


3. Prohibited Material:

a.   The following text, videos and messages that contains the following are banned on this forum:
1.   Materials that has elements of obscenity, gore, filthy, pornographic
2.   Materials that has elements of hatred, offensive and personally attack another member, a non-member, a person or a group of persons.
3.   Materials with contents being racists, sexists, bias and calling for violent acts or thoughts
4.   Materials with contents or elements that generally promotes violence and hatred towards any individual or entity
5.   Materials with contents or elements of a political nature which could potentially lead to disturbing the peace and harmony of either the forum, state, or country

b.   The above items are banned from being used on the following item:
1.   Nickname or Username
2.   Email
3.   Avatar
4.   Signature
5.   Personal Messages
6.   Shoutbox
7.   Attached documents
8.   Linked pictures (but displayed on the post)


4. "Copy and Paste" Articles :

a.    If members wish to post a news article from a news portal or any other composition from another website/blog he/she may either:

1.   Include the first few lines of the article and a link to the article.
2.   Summarize the article in your own writing and provide a link to it. Give some credits to the original author.
3.   If you wish to highlight some part of the articles, you may  include only parts / excerpts of the articles.
4.   Any topic opened with copied text and without personal comments or views, will be closed by the moderators without any warning or prior removal request.

b.   If the article or text is copied from an email and you would like to paste all of them, please state that you got it from your email. Please separate your own comments or views from the content being published.

* Why do we do this?
1.   To avoid copyright infringement. Anything posted on the net will be indexed by search engines.
2.   We do not want our forum to turn into a revolving door of copy and pasted articles.


5. Member Signature

a.   It should not reflect any of the forum prohibited materials (please refer to the related section)
b.   It should contain only text - with a maximum of 5 lines.
c.   It should not contain heavy images or/an animations that make the pages slow to download.
d.   It should not link to any business entity, affiliate links, forum sites or to a site that leads to other forums.
f.   It should not be used to promote other sites/forum/business.
g.   You can, however link to your own personal website or blog.

* Note: Signatures that do not follow the rules above will be deleted without notice. Stubborn forum members will be suspended.


6. Posting of Images

a.   Please do not post photos that are not meant to be distributed (example: private photos of others).
b.   For photos that contain copyright, you must not remove or obscure the copyright.
c.   For photos that has no copyright and not owned by you, please provide the URL where you got it.
d.   In case you received it from your email, please state it in your post.
e.   The member that posts the image takes full responsibility and liability on the photo / image


7. Linking to other websites

a.   Please give a short description of what you're linking and if possible, give warning should the linked page contains inappropriate content for some people (mild nudity, strong language).
b.   Avoid posting a deep link to somebody elses personal website without permission (eg: link to personal album)
c.   Personally victimized an individual


8. Advertisement / Commercial Content

a.   This forum is meant for fellowship and discussions, as such we do not welcome advertisements or promotion of your business either through your avatar, signatures or posting. You are ONLY ALLOWED to post your services or products in the "Buy, Sell, & Trade" board, with 1 topic per business or distinct product.
b.   The "Buy, Sell, & Trade" board is meant as extra privileges for the members. New members who registered on this forum just to sell products will have their membership suspended immediately.
c.   Spamming the members through the use of Personal Message are not allowed. Follow-up discussions following a post from "Buy, Sell, & Trade" is allowed.


9. Personal threat

a.   We will not tolerate any member who brings grudges or revenge on to the real world.
b.   Personal threat to other members either through personal emails, phone calls or physical contact are strictly prohibited.
c.   We will not be held accountable for any injuries or loss suffered by any party
d.   We will co-operate fully with the law enforcement officers should it be reported to them


10. Board-specific Rule

a.   Some of the board will have its specific rules, regulations and guidelines, please check that board's internal rule before posting.


11. Members' Rules of conduct and Acceptable behavior

a.   We promote a healthy, playful and friendly discussions on our forums. Members who like to provoke, harrass or attempt to disrupt any topic are not welcomed here. Any member reported to be in this manner will be subjected to a warning and life-time ban.
b.   Do not post inflammatory messages on the forum, or any attempt to disrupt discussions to upset its participants. The word, or its derivative, "trolling", is used to describe such messages or the act of posting them. (ref: Internet_Troll)
c.   You are not allowed to post as another member of the forum (imitating another member).
d.   You are not allowed to use another member's account to by-pass a ban.
e.   You are not allowed to let another member use your account to by-pass a ban or access a controlled forum.
